Guitar phenomenon, Biréli Lagrène was very young when he took up Djando Reinhardt’s repertoire. During the 1980’s, he played particularly with Stephane Grapelli. Then his meeting up with Jaco Pastorius guided him towards jazz fusion. His career is therefore founded on varied experiences and different styles. With Gypsy Project he perpetuates the gypsy jazz of his legendary master.

He plays with Keith Jarrett and is friends with Claude Nougaro et Michel Petrucciani, while retaining his direct roots with italian jazz. The trio formed with Louis Sclavis and Henri Texier has brought him great notoriety.
