There are countless other attractions in the area to visit, making "La Martinière Leytere" a wonderful centre for discovering this fascinating part of France.
In the neighbouring field are numerous animals including ducks, geese, peacocks and even a donkey and a goat. There are garden furniture and barbecue facilities.

LE PUY DU FOU : The first historic and ecological park giving you the feeling that you are back in medieval times. You'll be enchanted with the numerous places you visit showing you how people used to live, with its reconstructed castles and farms. Falconry displays will be part of this discovery. In the evening, a magnificent medieval pageantry combines to make it the largest show in Europe (30mn).
LE MARAIS POITEVIN : (Venise Verte) and its picturesque maze of waterways : why not discover them lazily on a boat or on horseback, it's a paradise for fishing (30mn).
LA FORET DE MERVENT-VOUVANT : with its dam and lake offering boat hire, restaurant, zoo, ideal for picnics and walks in beautiful surroundings. (15mn)
LE FUTUROSCOPE : so interesting, entertaining and complicated that only the brochure can do it justice (1h).
LA ROCHELLE : beautiful touristic town with medieval walled harbour, superb restaurants, shopping, boat trips, beaches (1h)
THE ATLANTIC COAST : including "la Tranche sur Mer" which offers mile upon mile of superb sandy beaches. Take a boat trip across to the "Ile de Ré or the "Ile d'Yeux (1h).
LE LAC DE ROCHEREAU : is only 10 mn away with its sandy beach, excellent swimming, boating (with lessons available), canoeing, windsurfing and fishing.
BAZOGES EN PAREDS : Historical village with its donjon (1380), museum and aromatic gardens 2 mn away
HORSE RIDING : is 10 mn away whether you wish to take lessons or hack.
